Winter Wonderland Art Show!

February 7, 2025

Under the direction of °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøElementary art teacher, Mrs. Kerim, the SEL cafeteria and hallways were turned into a Winter Wonderland with a Valentine’s Twist.

For the past few weeks, students have been working on two and three-dimensional artwork to put on display for family members to enjoy.  Snowflakes, nutcrackers, snowmen and even Valentine owls decorated the walls.

“We saw student excitement for art grow each week as we were coming closer to the show,” shared Dr. Kakalos.

As an added feature, Mr. Tim Needles worked with fourth and fifth graders and created animated winter animals that played on a loop in the cafeteria.

Many faculty and staff members came out to support this wonderful event as well! The SEL °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø further complemented the evening by selling hot chocolate and spirit wear.

SCSD Director of Fine Arts, Victoria Hartman, says the event really showcased what students in the district have to offer. “The °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøElementary art show kicked off the season across the district and truly set the bar high,” Hartman exclaimed. “Everywhere I looked, parents were beaming with pride as they snapped photos of their children standing beside their incredible masterpieces. This event was a perfect reflection of our art program, giving us a glimpse into the joy and creativity happening in our classrooms. Bravo to all the young artists at °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøElementary!”

What an awesome evening!
