Have you ever gone to a park in the summer and thought, “I wish I had brought my sunscreen?” Some High School West seniors are trying to make sure that issue will be resolved in the future.
Brianna Frayler, Ava Thomas, Isabella DiClemente, Samantha Becker and Emma Risolo met with Town council members Tuesday to propose sunscreen dispensers at local beaches and parks.
Ava spoke to the council about the project, how much it would cost, and how local companies could help sponsor it. The council seemed extremely receptive!
The proposal is the Civic Capstone Project that the students need to complete to earn the NYS Seal of Civic Readiness.
