Second grade classes at Dogwood Elementary are proud to show off the beautiful mural they worked on celebrating Black History Month.
Each class read a biography of three important historical figures (Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshall). The students identified character traits that made each person unique and discussed why they are important figures in history and our present day lives.
Each student colored one square and then the mural was put together!
As 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Aversano said, "This metaphorically represents how students can contribute in a small way that can lead to a larger goal."
